Common questions about CELTA.

Why should I take a Cambridge CELTA course?

The Cambridge CELTA is one of only two TEFL qualifications that are listed by the British Council as an acceptable teaching qualification that meets their standards and requirements. This means that many institutions worldwide prefer to employ those with the Cambridge CELTA as opposed to other TEFL certifications.

If you would like to teach English abroad, this is possibly the best way you can start. We have been training teachers since 1998 and we are ready to help you gain your internationally-recognized TEFL certification too. Join over 4000 of our graduates now teaching worldwide!

What will I be able to do with my CELTA qualification?

Graduates of our CELTA courses typically go on to work in private language schools, teaching adult or young learner students around the world. Some also go on to teach students online or work for language training agencies. One of the great things about the CELTA qualification is that once you have it, you can work anywhere (visa permitting)..

What are my chances of getting employment with CELTA?
  • 75% of English language teaching jobs require a Cambridge CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL qualification
  • 90% of our graduates secure employment within 1-4 weeks of course completion
  • 20% of our graduates secure employment even before they have graduated
  • 95% of our graduates who look for work in Asia secure employment
  • 100% dedication from our team of careers advisors

Our dedicated Careers Advisors work closely with our trainees before, during and after the course to ensure that you have a great chance of finding a good position teaching English anywhere in the world. This includes an online group session with our dedicated careers advisor to answer any of your questions. Find out more about our comprehensive careers service

Will the fact I took CELTA online appear on my certificate?

No. CELTA Online leads to exactly the same certificate as the face-to-face CELTA. Assessed outcomes are the same for all trainees, so there is no need for separate certification. Courses are assessed equally. The assessor observes teaching practice and has access to all online materials.

What are the benefits of CELTA online?

Flexible: You can access the online materials at any time, giving you the flexibility to plan your CELTA work around your other professional and personal commitments.

Accessible: Because your course is taken from the comfort of your own home, extra accommodation and travel costs are eliminated.
